The second STELLA Transnational Meeting
Co-funded by the European Union and Erasmus+, this transnational project aims to help people with disabilities (PWD) become more involved in their society, and actually, to make a real change!
The partners of STELLA-project met in Athens in Greece for the first transnational meeting in the course of the project duration. The location “Flisvos Cultural Centre” is a beautiful place with a great atmosphere, a splendid sea view close to the Athens Marina. The participants presented themselves with Power-Point-Presentations and videos, very well prepared and partly amusing.
A welcome by the district major and the opening of an art exhibition made this first day perfect.
The second day of the Transnational Meeting was dedicated to working on the different chapters of the handbook.
People with disabilities and staff met in chapter working groups and presented the work they had accomplished. During the working session, the best practice methods were presented and the next steps towards implementation of these methods were discussed. After having discussed and worked all day, we left the Flisvos Centre late afternoon for a visit to the beautiful and so impressive Acropolis. A lovely walk through the old town and an even nicer dinner with delicious Greek food made it another perfect day!
All results of the chapter working groups were presented to all participants and the report sheets have been prepared on the third meeting day. A further subject that was the focus of discussion was dissemination, which is very important for the success of our project. The new Data Protection Ordinance must also be considered within the context of spreading news about our project.
Finally, the meeting was evaluated and the tasks regarding the next meeting in Istanbul were established. The participants as well as the Project Team were very satisfied with the results from the meeting and the dedication of all partners to our STELLA project. The day was rounded up with a dinner in a typical Greek restaurant with music and dance. We left Athens with very beautiful impressions, full of energy for the ongoing project work.
