[WP 2] TRANSNATIONAL MEETING

18. – 21. APRIL 2018 | ATHENS | GREECE

STELLA Transnational Meeting

Co-funded by the European Union and Erasmus+, this transnational project aims to help people with disabilities (PWD or clients) become more involved in their society and actually make a real change!

The partners of the STELLA project met in Athens,Greece for the first transnational meeting in the course of the project. The location “Flisvos Cultural Centre” is a beautiful place with a great atmosphere, a splendid sea view close to the Athens Marina. The participants presented themselves with Power-Point-Presentations and videos, everyone was very well prepared and it was partly very amusing. A warm welcome by the district mayor as well as attending the vernissage of an art exhibition, made the first day perfect.

The second day of the Transnational Meeting was dedicated to working on the different chapters of the handbook.

People with disability and staff met in chapter working groups and presented their work to date. During the working session, the best practice methods were presented and the next steps towards the implementation of these methods was discussed. After having done so all day, we left the Flisvos Centre in the late afternoon for a visit of the beautiful and all so impressive Acropolis. A lovely walk through the old town and a nice dinner with delicious Greek food – another perfect day!

The results from each chapter working group were then presented to all participants and the report sheets were prepared on the third day. Further topics in focus of discussion were; dissemination, which is very important for the success of our project, the new Data Protection
Ordinance, which must be considered in the context of publishing news on the project going forward.

Finally, the meeting was evaluated and the tasks pertaining to the next meeting in Istanbul were established. The participants, as well as the project team were very satisfied with the results achieved during the meeting as well as with the dedication of all partners to the STELLA project. The day was completed with a dinner in a typical Greek restaurant, with music and dancing. We left Athens with very beautiful impressions, full of energy for the ongoing project work.
